Nuova livrea test per l’AW169 | First AW169 with skids showed its astonishing test livery

Leonardo ha avviato la campagna di test con una versione modificata di AW169 equipaggiata coi pattini.

L’intento è disporre questa opzione sia sul mercato civile che militare.

Con l’aggiunta dei pattini, assieme a carrello retrattile e fisso, il modello sarà disponibile sul mercato in 3 versioni.

Inizialmente il protoripo aveva effettuato i primi voli con una versione innovativa dello stabilizzatore orizzontale.

A seguito oltre ad aver ricevuto la livrea sperimentale completa, sono tornati ad adottare la versione precedente dello stabilizzatore, come visibile sul prototipo iniziale della serie.

Alcune fonti hanno dichiarato che l’esercito italiano e la Polizia abbiano già ordinato alcuni esemplari con questa configurazione.

Al momento la prima consegna è stimata per il 2023.

Leonardo is test flying a prototype AW169 equipped with skids in preparation for the launch of a kit that will be available for both military and commercial markets.

The skids will provide a third landing gear option for AW169 operators, following existing retractable wheeled landing gear, and fixed wheeled landing gear.

The prototype aircraft was pictured during test flights equipped with the skids as well as an unsual adaptation to its horizontal stabilizer, with the vertical fins at either end curving inwards.

Now the prototype has received its final colorful livery, and as visible they step back to the first horizontal stabilizer installed, the same of the former protorype of the serie.

The skids will provide a third landing gear option for AW169 operators, following existing retractable wheeled landing gear, and fixed wheeled landing gear.

Skid-configured AW169s have already been ordered for military and homeland security duties in Italy, the spokesperson added.

The Italian LUHs are expected to be delivered in 2023, The spokesperson said other operators have also asked for skids, and the kit may be available earlier than that.
