Trauma Hawk orders two AW169 helicopters in early 2020.

The first one took the sky last month, and today flies wearing full livery and the new helicopter AW-169 will join the fleet very soon.

Trauma Hawk’s AW169s will be Leonardo’s first helicopters equipped with a longitudinal stretcher.

The mission of the Trauma Hawk Aero-Medical Program is to save lives and reduce injury mortality through rapid transport of patients to specialized health care facilities such as trauma, burn, spinal cord and pediatric hospitals.

Today, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, through an unique partnership with the Health Care District, operates two air ambulances in Palm Beach County.

By the moment the Health Care District of Palm Beach County owns and operates two air ambulances: Sikorsky S76-C+.

At more than 2,300 square miles, Palm Beach County is the largest county by area in Florida, making air transport to one of the area’s two Trauma Centers even more critical.

The helicopters and staff are stationed at a state-of-the-art hangar facility at the Palm Beach International Airport.
