In the summer peak, Linate Airport has been closed for three months for runway renovation works and terminal restyle.
Last flight boarding
The last flights were undergoing boarding when Milan Airport CEO Armando Brunini came in to release a brief interview:
“The move from Linate required a lot of co-ordination and training for a smooth start at Malpensa on July 27”
Equipment and vehicle load
To support the movement of the flights from Linate to Malpensa they had to transfer almost all of the equipments and vehicles.
The target was organizing a single convoy of vehicle able to move along the road on its own and loading the ones not allowed on public road on trailers.
Linate airport terminal closure
The last duty was the terminal closure after the last passenger flight had departed. Most of the terminal employed were transferred to Malpensa too for the three months closure.
Transfer to Malpensa Airport
They organized a convoy and closed the main highway the night between the 27th and 28th of July 2019, with the support of the Italian Police who coordinated the closure of the intersection along the way to Malpensa.
